USGBC is also accepting applications for qualified professionals to assist in reviewing session proposals. Greenbuild is known for its innovative, informative, and exciting programs, and peer reviewers are essential to its success.

Greenbuild includes over 100 educational sessions featuring world renown speakers, LEED workshops, off-site educational sessions, and Green Building tours of local sites. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are be available for all educational sessions, LEED workshops, green building tours, and post conference seminars. (USGBC is a registered educational program provider for AIA/CES, ASID/IIDA, BOMI, and IFMA.)

Opening Keynote Speaker: Archbishop Desmond Tutu

USGBC was proud to welcome Archbishop Tutu as our 2008 Keynote Speaker at Greenbuild in Boston. He is a Nobel Peace Laureate, who has lead a crusade for social justice and racial conciliation in South Africa as then-General Secretary of the South African Council of Churches. Today, he is revered worldwide as a “moral voice” seeking to end poverty and human rights abuses.

Closing keynote address

E.O. Wilson

E.O. Wilson is a University Research Professor emeritus and honorary Curator of entomology at the Museum of comparative Zoology at Harvard University. One of today's finest scholars and naturalists, Dr. Wilson is the recipient of more than 100 international medals and awards. He is a Pulitzer Prize winning author of several books in which he highlights the calamitous loss of species diversity going on today and calls on all of us to do what we can to prevent it.

Janine Benyus

Janine Benyus is the author of Biomimicry: Innovation Inspired by Nature, which names an emerging discipline that seeks sustainable solutions by emulating nature's designs and processes. A co-founder of the Biomimicry Guild and founder of the Biomimicry Institute, Benyus regularly consults with sustainable business, academic, and government leaders. She also conducts seminars, reflecting on how to learn from the genius that surrounds us.

Kevin Klose, Moderator

Kevin Klose is President of National Public Radio (NPR). A former editor, and national and foreign correspondent with The Washington Post, Klose is an award-winning author and international broadcasting executive. Prior to joining NPR in December 1998, Klose served successively as Director of U.S. International Broadcasting, overseeing the U.S. Government global radio and television news services (1997-1998); and President of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL), broadcasting to Central Europe and the former Soviet Union (1994-1997). Klose first joined RFE/RL in 1992 as Director of Radio Liberty, broadcasting to the former Soviet Union in its national languages. In 2006, Klose was awarded the Edward R. Murrow Award from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to recognize his outstanding contributions to public radio.
